Online Safety

We use ICT resources at Weetangera Primary School to support learning across the curriculum.

When it comes to using ICT, we ensure that students understand their responsibilities according to the Communities Online: Acceptable Use of ICT - Parents and Students Policy. We teach students about staying safe online, how to find accurate and reliable information, and how they can be respectful and productive while using technology.

Because technology changes so much from day to day, it is important that all of us stay up to date, and know what our children and our students are doing. Please see below for links to some great resources for parents to understand internet safety, social media and gaming and how young people interact with these technologies.

Office of the eSafety Commissioner

The Office of the eSafety Commissioner provides support and advice for a range of issues, including  the benefits and risks of gaming, screen time, parental controls, privacy and online safety. They can also help you and your child if there is a problem with someone or something online.

ThinkUKnow

Think U Know is a n education program led by the Australian Federal Police. Their site also includes lots of information to help parents and young people to stay safe online.
