Enrolling/Transferring - ACT Public Schools

Parents/carers are welcome to apply to enrol/transfer their child at any time during the school year using an online application form. Full details are available from the Education website.
The Priority Enrolment Area for Weetangera Primary School is Weetangera. We also service Page and Scullin which are shared enrolment areas with Hawker Primary School, Southern Cross Early Childhood School and Florey Primary School. Enrolment from these suburbs would depend on available space.

Parents and carers are required to have evidence of the following to enrol in an ACT Government School:
- Date of birth of the child, either a birth certificate (original or certified copy) or a passport
- The child's immunisation certificate
- Proof of residential address - Acceptable proof includes and electricity account, tenancy agreement etc. Not acceptable are driver's licences or Statutory Declarations.

Kindergarten Enrolment
All children entering the Kindergarten class may enrol at the beginning of the year. Or you may wish to notify the school in the preceding year if your child is not already at the preschool. Children must be 5 years of age or turn 5 by 30 April of that year.
Preschool Enrolment
Children who turn four on or before 30 April are entitled to 15 hours of free preschool a week at an ACT public school. This service is provided under the authority and oversight of the Education and Care Services National Law (ACT) Act 2011 and the Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011.
In the ACT, if your child turns four on or before 30 April, they can start preschool the first day of term 1 that year. If your child turns four after 30 April, they can start preschool the first day of term 1 the following year.
To complete your application go to Education Directorate website, then click on 'Enrolling in an ACT Public School' to complete and submit your application. If enrolment is not accepted at your first choice school, your application will be forwarded to your second choice.
