Welcome to Year 5/6!
The teachers in Year 5/6 are Emma Bradstock in Unit 5, Chloe Frost and Celeste Tunnecliffe in Unit 6 and Emily Dziubinski, Chelsea Glenn and Corinne Hannan in Unit 7.
The units are busy, fun places to be with an emphasis on collaboration, inclusion and respect. Teachers utilise a team teaching and learning approach within their units to hook students into their learning. Daily learning experiences emphasise a growth mindset to ensure all students discover the positive side of situations and build resilience when faced with difficulties.
Each morning begins with a maths session where students will begin with warm up mentals and games focusing on speed recall of number facts.
Every Thursday, students will have the opportunity to engage in Music with Sarah Masling, French with Mademoiselle Sabetraftar, PE with Ian Lanham, Social and Emotional Learning with Chelsea Glenn and Sustainability with Isabelle Dunn. Students will have the opportunity to participate in extra curricula activities offered throughout the year. These include but are not limited to Buddy mentor program and sports carnivals.
Regular Seesaw updates will be sent out to inform parents and carers of current learning. Seesaw is our main form of communication with parents and families.
Please contact your child’s teacher if you have any questions throughout the year.
